Review: ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 750Ti OC

You really do not have to spend a lot of money for your PC gaming performance and to prove that statement, ZOTAC has launched the new GEFORCE GTX 750Ti OC graphics card. This graphics card, which is based on Nvidia’s GTX 750 Ti reference design, comes with a redesigned cooling system that offers two cooling fans and promises low power consumption.

Nvidia’s Maxwell graphics chip is still quite new on the market and has gotten rave reviews here on Review Central, due to its low power consumption, coupled with very good gaming performance on full HD. We received the overclocked version of the GeForce GTX 750 Ti OC from Zotac for this review.

This GM107 graphics chip, which is the first from the Maxwell lineup, has only been slightly overclocked by 26 MHz by ZOTAC. We will see higher clock rates in the AMP! versions to follow. Most of the specifications are similar to the Nvidia reference design.

ZOTAC GTX 750 Ti - 1

ZOTAC has managed to install two fans on a comparatively small graphics card to provide a cool operating temperature. The card comes with a 6-pin power connector and is designed for overclocking. The buffer consists of 2GB of GDDR5 memory, while the VRAM is connected via a 128-bit wide interface to the graphics chipset.

ZOTAC GTX 750 Ti - 3

Nvidia has not promised too much when it comes to gaming performance at a resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels. in our benchmarks, we ran many games, such as Tomb Raider, Dirt: Showdown and Bioshock Infinite. We managed to clock playable frame rates of around 30-fps at full HD resolution. In other games such as Sleeping Dogs and Hitman: Absolution, the frame rate sometimes dropped to around 18 frames per second at full HD.

ZOTAC GTX 750 Ti - 4

When it comes to power consumption, a lot has changed over the earlier generations of the chipset. Power consumption was quite low, with the operating temperatures revolving around 64 degrees Celsius on an average. Maxwell proves to be very overclocking friendly in addition to offering low power consumption. In addition, the graphics card comes with a 5-year warranty (2 years warranty, and additional 3 years extended warranty, if you register your card within 30-days of purchasing it), which is a welcome addition.

In Full HD, though the slightly higher core clock speed may not be noticeable, the gaming performance in full HD is quite good. The ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 750Ti OC leaves a good impression by offering good performance and low power consumption.
