BIOSTAR has successful showing at COMPUTEX 2014

BIOSTAR has had a very successful showing at this year’s COMPUTEX trade show, Asia’s largest high-tech event. The company showcased four product families featuring their latest embedded solutions, Mini PC barebones systems, graphics card solutions and motherboards including Intel’s next generation “Haswell Refresh” processors and 9 Series chipsets.

The first out the door at COMPUTEX was BIOSTAR’s “Mini PC” barebones systems: The BIOSTAR iDEQ-T1, built with an Intel Bay Trail 22nm processor for intelligent systems, is a pint-sized powerhouse for value-conscious businesses and organizations. This low-cost, low-power solution introduces many firsts to the Intel NUC form-factor.

With its vertical industrial design and support for Linux and Windows 7/8/8.1 OS, it’s a perfect fit for schools, call centers, and other locations with a large installed base of VGA monitors. The BIOSTAR iDEQ-T1 is an ideal combination of power consumption, performance, cost effectiveness, and software compatibility.

In the motherboards area, BIOSTAR showed off the Hi-Fi Z97WE, based on the Intel Z97 chipset with key features such as PCIe M.2 support, Dual GbE LAN and BIOSTAR exclusive Hi-Fi audio technology. The Hi-Fi Z97WE is an ATX form factor board that features Intel socket 1150 support. It has 4 memory slots for up to 32GB of RAM. The on-board HDMI supports 4K and 2K resolutions. The on-board LAN controllers of the Hi-Fi Z97WE also support 10/100/1000/2000 with “Teaming” mode. The primary advantage is the doubling of bandwidth which allows the bandwidth of 1G to boost to 2G. It also allows for full-duplex transmission, which offers simultaneous uploads and downloads.

Another major advantage is that of load balancing. This allows the user to attach both network adapters to a single network. This can allow for double the network bandwidth off of a single connection. It will therefore support the aggregation “teaming” function by merging the two connections to support multiple aggregation mode.

In addition, with BIOSTAR’s dual Gigabit LAN connections you get network insurance. These boards come with two Gigabit Ethernet lightning protection circuits, which are efficient in reducing the probability of damage from lightning or other power surge. So if one connection is disabled the other connection will automatically kick in. BIOSTAR also showed off its Gaming Series motherboards, which will soon be available on the market.
