The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive looks like a regular flash drive. However, what makes it stand out from the crowd is its ability to stream media files wirelessly to other mobile mobile devices. You can use it to stream and store videos, photos, music and documents on-the-go across multiple mobile devices without the hassle of cables, email attachment limits and Internet availability.

In order to use the device, all you need is the Sandisk Wireless Flash Drive app, which can be downloaded from any of the app stores for iOS and Android. Once the app’s installed on your tablet or smartphone, you can connect to the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive wirelessly. What the flash drive does is, it creates an ad-hoc wireless network in order to connect to mobile devices – much like a wireless hotspot.

With the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive, you can wirelessly connect to up to eight devices and stream media to as many as three devices simultaneously. The drive’s battery recharges via USB and offers up to 4 hours of continuous streaming on a single charge. In our tests, it took around 2 hours for the device to completely recharges and we were able to eke out a little more than 4 hours of continuous video streaming.

The device itself is very well made and the build quality is quite good. The app is also intuitive to use – there is no learning curve involved at all. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive may actually be quite useful to those looking for an easy to use storage device that can store several people’s media for simultaneous consumption on smartphones and tablets.

You can copy all the media you think you’ll need to the wireless flash drive, and you and two fellow travelers can connect to it and stream from it during a road trip. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive is quite handy to carry around and works as advertised. The SanDisk Wireless Flash Drive thus earns our Recommended nod.

Price: AED 219 (16GB), AED 259 (32GB), and AED 439 (64GB)
