PhotoFast recently announced the launch of its new MemoriesCable Generation 3. Compared with the first generation MemoriesCable, the Gen 3 version comes with a braided nylon mesh cable and is now available in two different colour options. The colours include black with silver combination and a black and red braided design that makes the device look stylish.
PhotoFast has always been known for quality products and the MemoriesCable Gen 3 is no different. The deice is a charging cable that fits iOS devices with lightning connectors. On one end, the device has a lightning connector while on the other you will find a USB 3.0 connector. The device comes with built in storage that allows you to backup and copy your media files or stream movies to their iOS devices while charging at the same time.
Since the device is essentally a charging cable with memory built-in, you can manage your data on the go, while charging your device at the same time, using a power bank, laptop or wall socket. The MemoriesCable Gen 3 is available in three storage capacities – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The sample unit we received for review, came with 32GB of storag space.
In order to use the device with your iOS devices, you need to first install the PhotoFast ONE app from the Apple App Store. Once the app has been installed, you will be able to upload photos, videos, music, movies, business presentations and more, directly from your PC, laptop or Mac, wihtout having to use iTunes to sync up the data.
The app also allows you to use cloud storage services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive and One Drive to directlt upload data and share it with anyone through a few simple taps. In addition, PhotoFast allows you to use the Touch ID functionality as a security passcode for the app.
For added security, PhotoFast also allows you to secure the MemoriesCable Gen 3 through Lightning and USB Lock. In terms of look and feel, the Photofast MemoriesCable Gen 3 is comprised of a smooth gray aluminum metal build and weighs in at just 9.4-gms. The cable has a very solid design and it measures 13cm in length, which should be OK for most users.
The PhotoFast ONE app is quite intuitive to use. We like the fact that it comes with a ton of useful features including cloud storage integration, giving users the ability to manage all of their content located on the MemoriesCable through DropBox and Google drive.
In addition, the app also offers a one-touch backup feature that easily backs up all contact, calendar, and photos by simply touching one button. Couple all of this with its social media integration, and the MemoriesCable makes for a unique and viable option for consumers looking for something a little different. The PhotoFast MemoriesCable Gen 3 should be on top of your list of accessories if you own an iOS device and find yourself running out of iCloud storage regularly.
