OxygenOS Nougat Beta 10 is Now Available for OnePlus 3

OxygenOS Open Beta 10 (based on Android 7.0 Nougat) is now available to download for the OnePlus 3. This is the latest beta release of Android Nougat for the OnePlus 3 and is one which comes with some fairly minor, but nonetheless important, fixes and improvements. If you are already a part of the Nougat beta program for the OnePlus 3 (and presumably currently running the Open Beta 9 version) then you will receive this latest build via an OTA update organically.

If you are not running the previous version of the OxygenOS beta and would like to test this latest version out, then you will be required to sideload the current version manually using ADB. In terms of the changes and as mentioned, there is nothing too grand included with this update and instead, this seems to be one which is further ironing out the Nougat software prior to its official and proper release.

As a result, most of the details in the changelog refer to various optimizations. Those include the optimizing of the fingerprint unlocking speed, Wi-Fi performance, system performance and battery consumption. As well as an optimized expanded screenshot quality. Additional changes listed include the addition of Data Saver, along with a fix for those who are experiencing reboots which led to a reverting to the default theme, and/or a lock screen clock bug which is said to occur when the device is used in portrait mode.

For those keeping track, Open Beta 10 has come fairly soon after the release of Open Beta 9, as the previous version become available approximately two weeks ago. One of the likely reasons as to why OnePlus is now ramping up the frequency of the beta versions is due to the self-imposed time-frame that OnePlus put in place for rolling out Nougat to this device.

Back in November OnePlus did confirm that the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T would receive an official Nougat update by the close of 2016. Therefore, it stands to reason that as the year is now coming to a close, the proper and ready version of OxygenOS, based on Android Nougat, is also nearing its release.
