Reports suggest that some Overwatch gamers are using a keyboard-mouse setup instead of a controller when playing on console. This is mostly done by the gamers to cheat during gameplay. Blizzard, the publisher of the game disapproves of Overwatch gamers who use keyboard and mouse to play the game on a console.
If gamers are doing so well when aiming with the controller, they might actually be using a mouse and a keyboard. This means that they are cheating. It doesn’t matter if gamers play the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC. What really matters is how gamers aim. That could influence the gamers’ destiny in the match, establishing if they are a good player or not.
Thus, Director of the game, Jeff Kaplan, has a message for Overwatch players on console who use a mouse and keyboard as their controller of choice: Don’t do it. In a post on the Battle.net forum, he spoke on behalf of Blizzard Entertainment to explain why the developer “objects” to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners going out of their to use mice and keyboards.
“The Overwatch team objects to the use of mouse and keyboard on console,” Kaplan wrote. “We have contacted both first-party console manufacturers and expressed our concern about the use of mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices.”
When you start playing Overwatch, you will see that there is always someone better then you, shooting you in no time, even if you practiced your aim and you were good at it. Then, you might figure it out that there are Overwatch players who use a keyboard and mouse setup on a console. That could be considered cheating.
Some gamers though claim that this problem represents only a matter of preference for players. Just like some players prefer to use Logitech driving gears to enjoy Forza or arcade joystick to play Street Fighter V, some may also prefer a keyboard-mouse setup. Specialists argue that XIM4 which is one of the best keyboard-mouse adapters for consoles is considered one of the most famous courses of action for gamers who play Overwatch on PS4 or Xbox One.
