Blackwire to Showcase Vehicle Connectivity Solutions at GITEX

Ted Polly, Blackwire.

Blackwire is a company that offers in-Vehicle Wi-Fi services in the GCC region. The company has announced that it is participating at GITEX Technology Week for the very first time this year. At the event, the company plans to showcase its latest solutions that enable in-vehicle connectivity.

Located at Stand Z-A110, in Za’aabeel Hall, Blackwire will also be demonstrating its IP-CCTV integrated solutions and advanced LTE routers. These routers provide internet access for public transportation modes such as buses, trains and even ambulances across the UAE.

Blackwire has been providing in-vehicle internet connection in the UAE since 2009 by fitting more than 6,000 TransAD Abu Dhabi taxis, 1550 RTA Dubai Hala taxis and 150 Jumeirah Group hotel limousines with Wi-Fi infrastructure. Blackwire’s solutions will be available through internet service providers with some of them being exclusive distributors and partners of Blackwire’s car Wi-Fi integrated solutions in the UAE.

“By 2020, there will be a quarter of a billion connected vehicles on the roads globaly, enabling new in-vehicle services, according to Gartner, Inc. Given the fast pace in which smart cities operate, in-vehicle Wi-Fi should be considered a necessity especially for passengers that are consistently on the move and need to be connected to the internet for professional and personal reasons,” explains Ted Polly, Vice President of Business Development at Blackwire LLC.  “Wi-Fi connection will no longer be limited to the passengers’ Internet access capabilities but will go beyond its traditional purpose while paving the way for connected vehicles and driverless cars to occupy our roads in the nearest future”.

Blackwire will also be launching a monetization digital media platform for in-vehicle Wi-Fi at GITEX 2017. Using the tech, users are diverted to a text or a short video AD and then to a comprehensive infotaiment portal that is relevant to their location upon connecting to the Wi-Fi network available in the vehicle.
