Underwater Train to connect UAE with Mumbai

Abdulla Alshehhi, managing director and founder of an Abu Dhabi based consultancy firm, National Advisor Bureau Limited mooted an idea of starting an underwater floating trains to connect Fujairah with Mumbai, the financial capital of India at an recently concluded event India-UAE Strategic Conclave 2018 in Abu Dhabi.

Speaking at the conclave, Alshehhi said that the 2,000 km undersea rail network will not only transport passengers, but will also look to transport oil and other goods. As reported by Khaleej Times, Alshehhi said “This is a concept. We plan to connect Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be export of oil to India from Fujairah port and import of excess water from Narmada River, north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import,”

Abdulla Alshehhi is the same brain, which was behind the idea of towing Icebergs from Antarctic to the coast of UAE to resolve the fresh water problem as well as start an Iceberg tourism on the doorstep of the country rather than going far to Arctic regions.
