Photography enthusiasts have plenty to rejoice! Sony Middle East and Africa has unveiled the latest addition to its Alpha 7R series, full frame mirrorless line-up-the powerful, versatile, ALPHA 7R IV (model ILCE-7RM4).

Acclaimed as Sony’s highest resolution full-frame camera ever, the ALPHA 7R IV delivers stunning images with high resolution and a wide dynamic range, while retaining perfect focus, high speed continuous shooting and much more.

“We continue to drive innovation, break boundaries and redefine the expectations of a digital camera’s performance,” said Murat Gebeceli, Head of Digital Imaging, Sony Middle East and Africa. “The new Alpha 7R IV combines medium format level image quality with high-speed shooting, extremely fast focusing, and long list of upgrades to design, connectivity and usability. This will allow professional photographers, videographers and all types of photographers in the Middle East, to capture content in ways not possible before,” he added.

The camera features a newly developed 35mm full-frame back illuminated CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 61.0 MP2, the first in the world. This back illuminated structure and effective noise reduction techniques combine to deliver extremely low noise, high sensitivity performance, ensuring maximum image quality. The camera also boasts of an impressive 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivities, resulting in smooth natural gradations ranging from deep shadows to highlights, and utilizes algorithms from the latest Alpha cameras to maintain outstanding colour effects.

This full frame model is also equipped with a cutting edge 5-axis, various connectivity options and an optical in-body image stabilization system that has been fine-tuned to support high resolution shooting, resulting in a shutter speed advantage of 5.5 steps. It also boasts of Sony’s highest resolution viewfinder in any camera. The display quality can be set to ‘Standard’ or ‘High’ mode and to either 60fps or 120 fps to match the subject and shooting conditions.

That’s not all. The Alpha 7R IV also debuts the Real-Time Eye AF for movie shooting-a first in any Sony camera. When activated, the eye of the subject is automatically tracked with a high degree of precision and accuracy, allowing the shooter to focus on the actual content, instead of figuring out what is in focus and what’s not.

The new full frame Alpha 7R IV full-frame interchangeable lens camera is a photographer’s delight and a movie maker’s dream. It will be available in the UAE from mid-September onwards, and costs AED 14,999.
